Walmart Hauling, my favorite hobby

I know, I know I buy makeup at Walmart WAAY too much. But I can't help it, so here we go...

The goods..

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent, $3.98

N.Y.C. Liquid Lip Shine in Cappacinno (Top) and Sheer Ruby (Bottom), $1.87

Oh my goodness, I love these glosses! Even though I have a million of these, I'm glad I got 2 more because both of these shades are so lovely!

(Left to Right) N.Y.C. Long Wearing in Charming Rose and Wing it Wine, Both for $0.98
N.Y.C. In a New York Color Minute in Bryant Park and China Town, Both for $1.97
Wet n Wild Craze in Morbid, $2.24

WnW Craze in Morbid
I will post pics of all the nail polishes soon, but I just had to show you this color because I'm obsessed. Seriously the prettiest green black EVER! And it applies like a dream. That is one coat on my nails.

Rimmel Soft Kohl Intense&Smoky in Sable Brown, $2.98
I never use pencil liner anymore, but I decided to give this stuff a chance. As you can see it does smudge when rubbed vigorously, but I'm not too worried.
Wet n Wild eyeshadow trio in Sweet As Candy and Knock On Wood, $3.00

I love the cranberry shade from the Knock On Wood palette and the highlight shade from the Sweet as Candy palette. Both of the brown shades are also very pretty!

That's all for now, but I do have another e.l.f. order on its way. My sister and I ordered some things with the sale they have going on now through Monday and all eye products sitewide are 50% off!! Products, brushes, tools, EVERYTHING! So head on over there and pick up so new pretty eye products.

A little bit more Halloween

Hey Everyone, I had an office Halloween party on Friday and did the same Zombie look I showed you last week but tweaked it a little so I thought I would share the pictures:

This is actually slightly different than what I looked like at work because when I got home I was playing around with the look and I added the sparkle to my eyes and made the lips more purple.
I am seriously so impressed with my little ol' tube of red food coloring!
If you're wondering why I never smile in any of these pictures, it's because it totally ruins the whole thing. I don't even look like I'm dressed up for Halloween if I smile, I just look a girl with a bloody nose and crazy makeup, lol.

Just a little comparison of the first zombie look (Right) and this second one (Left)

My next Halloween look is going to be Snooki-inspired. I loved Blair's Snooki Tutorial and since I have the perfect foundation for it (Revlon nasty orange mess from Big Lots), I think that is what I will be today, I'm very excited!

Hope you've all been enjoying some fun Halloween activites!

Let me know what you are going to be for Halloween?

Simple EOTD

Hey Everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I thought I would show you guys some picture from a look I did with Wet n Wild Coloricon palette in Greed. I only used three of the shades from the palette and kept it very simple and natural.

I love the contrast of the peach and the silvery gray. It's definitely not a combination I would have tried without this palette putting the colors together.

Here is the palette:
I used the top four shades. I skipped the bottom 2 black shades because I didn't want it to be so harsh and dramatic. I really loved how pigmented the matte peach shade was. I love this color and I can't wait to use it with lots of other colors.

Just as kind of a heads up, the cord to my laptop stopped working and I won't be able to get another one until I'm in the city again so I don't know when I will be able to put more posts up but as soon as I can I will have a Walmart Haul and my makeup collection/storage posts.

EOTD: L.A. Colors 5 Color Metallic Eyeshadow: Darling

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to share a few pictures of my eye makeup I did this past weekend for running errands with my husband.

I chose my LA Colors palette in Darling because all the shades are neutral colors and they are all slightly less pigmented than I normally use so I thought it was appropriate for something simple like running errands. I used all 5 shades and will just describe real quick where each one was used.

1. Inner half of my lid
2. Outer half of my lid
3. Outer corner and crease
4. Inner corner
5. Brow bone

I also used my e.l.f. Mineral eye primer, Plum WnW eyeliner pencil, and Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara. I really really like this palette, and can you believe it was only $1.50!?
I hope you enjoyed this simple eye look and aren't getting too sick of my shimmery brown eye looks. I promise I will do something different next!

e.l.f. Haul #6

Look what finally arrived!!!
I am SOOO excited! It's been too long since I've gotten an e.l.f. order and I am entirely way to excited. I got some fun things I have been wanting for quite some time and others I chose on a whim and am really hoping they work out! Let's take a look...

The Beauty Encyclopedia- Basic Eye Edition, $5.00
I have been wanting to get one of these beauty encyclopedias since they first came out and now I finally do! I'm loving these colors and the great instructions included with the book.

All the swatches are done over primer. All the colors are so pigmented and smooth.
I did have a hard time swatches the matte shades in the bottom right corner, they didn't blend very well. But I was using my finger and my cheaper primer, maybe my results will be better with my mineral primer and an actual brush.

These are the 2 cream shades, which look exactly the same. I'm okay with that though because I didn't buy it for the cream shades anyways!

Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette in Natural, $3.00
I was really excited when I saw these because they look so much nicer than the other small palettes e.l.f. offers. Plus the colors are all so gorgeous and shimmery!

The swatches are all done over primer and they are sooo pretty!
The only beef I have with this is the first two shades on the left. The silver and gold are soooo gritty and powdery and there is so much glitter it actually makes the shadow chunky. I was really disappointed. But if you work with it a little the shadow ends up looking pretty good. None of the rest of the shadows are like that though, so maybe there was just a fluke with my palette. Regardless, I am so excited to have this!

Studio Single Eyeshadow in Amethyst, $2.00
I couldn't resist this pretty purple eyeshadow. I love the packaging too! I think it's so cute!

The top swatch is with primer and the bottom is without
I am really surprised with how sheer this shadow is but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe being so sheer will make this shadow an easy to use everyday color. We will see. Even if it's sheer, I still love this plum shade!

Clarifying Pressed Powder in Rosy Beige, $1.00
This is one of the products I bought on a whim. I don't have high hopes for this product but I thought it would good to at least give it a shot. My $1.00 eyeliner pens turned out to be the best eyeliners I have ever used so maybe this powder will turn out to be pretty good. We will see...

Tone Correcting Concealer in Rosy Beige, $1.00
This is the same as the powder above. I doubt it will be the worlds best concealer but I want to give it a shot so I know for myself. You'll never know when you're going to be pleasantly surprised by a product!

Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance, $1.00
I bought this as a highlight after seeing Mandi's review. I used it this morning when I was doing my makeup and I looove it! I'm so glad I purchased this!

As you can see, it is very light and shimmery!
It's also very very soft. I'll definitely only need a tiny bit to go a long way.

Shimmer pencil in Plum Passion, $1.00
Really pretty purple...
...that smudges SO easily!
The smudging is a little disappointing but I just love this shimmery purple and to be honest I don't rub my eyes like I was rubbing that swatch, so I still have hopes!

Candy Shop Lip Gloss in Candy Fix, Free with purchase
These are nothing special, just a sheer sweet smelling gloss. I'm accumulating quite a few of these, it's a good thing I like them!

Brushes!!!

Professional Bronzing brush, $1.00
I got this because I don't have a contoured powder brush. I haven't used it yet but so far I'm loving the red-ish brown bristles, I think it's so pretty.

Professional Eyeshadow brush, $1.00
I have heard so many good things about this brush, I just had to get it. I must say I was not impressed when I pulled it out the bag because it looks so cheap but I used it this morning and it works wonderfully!!

Professional Blending brush, $1.00
I have been in desperate need of a blending brush so I sure hope this lives up to my expectations!

Professional Eye Defining brush, $1.00
I got this since I was getting all of the other eyeshadow brushes. I love angled brushes like this.

Professional Smudge sponge, $1.00
Again, this was a purchase just because I was getting the other brushes but I love smudge sponges like these, so I hope this one works well also.

I'm so glad my order finally came! I don't know what it is about e.l.f. but ordering stuff from them, makes me SO excited. They are a little addicting for me. I'm very excited for everything I got and I can't wait to do reviews on all of it!

Have you ordered anything from e.l.f. lately? See anything you want to try?

A little bit of Halloween

Hey Everyone!
This past weekend I went to a Halloween party my friend was having as a zombie of sorts. I was having a hard time deciding what to be and my husband told me he wanted me to be something dead, so off I went to "die." Surprisingly it only took me about 20-25 minutes with the makeup and then maybe another 25 minutes with the hair, blood, and costume.
I have never been anything dead or gross for Halloween and other than the typical "80s Barbie" makeup, I have never even done anything so centered on makeup on Halloween either. This was definitely a first for me so I hope you will forgive any little messy mistakes.

With my hair I (obviously) just backcombed it a bunch to make it look crazy. I put it half back so my bangs wouldn't get in my face or in my blood.

The blood was done with a gel textured red food coloring. I was shocked how well it turned out.

I really like these ones where the flash totally washes me out, it makes me look so zombie-like!

I was definitely lacking most in the costume department. I took an old shirt and ripped it up and put holes in it and I wore some distressed jeans.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my first Halloween costume of the season! I have a work costume party on Friday and then of course Halloween itself this weekend. I think I might want to do different things each day.... but we will see how creative I get.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

xoxo
