NOTD feat. Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips, NYC, && Seche Vite

This past weekend I went to Big Lots and saw they had a few shades of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects real nail polish strips. I had never tried them before so I picked up the print called Skinny Jeans.

Each box comes with 16 strips {heaven forbid they give you 20, HELLO I HAVE 10 FINGERS?!?}. They are two air tight packages of 8 {I repeat, HELLO I HAVE 10 FINGERS} and once you open the package you have to use all of the strips and discard any unused strips because they will dry out. I decided to only open one package of 8 and then do accent nails in a different color so I didn't have to open the other package {darn you Sally Hansen, I know what you were trying to do and I thwarted your evil wasteful plan!}

Here is how it turned out

The berry colored polish is Radio City Rose by NYC

Oh && did I mention this was only $3.00 at Big Lots?!
Now get yourself to Big Lots!!

New clothes from Old Navy!

-First up are those dark wash jeans. They are actually much darker than they appear in the picture above. They are very cute and simple. The kind of jeans you can wear with anything. Mine always shrink (length wise) after a few washes. I'm approximately 5'8" so I order mine long and roll them up the first few times I wear them and eventually they shrink to the perfect size. When I order the regular length they are perfect until I have to wash them and then I look like I'm preparing for a flood, if you know what I mean. Not a good look with any jeans, let alone boot cut.

-The blue tank in the opposite corner is supposed to be yellow, hence the mini version above it. Apparently they don't carry the yellow anymore but the blue is still cute!

-I order the gray braided tank first. It was so cute and fit perfectly that I ordered a second in purple.

-The polka dot and yellow tanks are also really cute and very very comfortable.

-I absolutely love the zebra print cardigan. It is the perfect way to do an animal print without looking like the star of Jerseyshore!

-I love Old Navy's jersey stretch tanks! Which is why I ordered three. They are mostly cotton but have some spandex to give them stretch. They aren't tight but they also don't stretch out and lose their shape like some of the brand's cotton tanks.

-I'm also totally in love with this scarf. I realize we are only a month or two away from Fall but I mean come on, coral with polka dots and little fringe. What more could I want?! It is a very thin airy scarf. I just love it.

-The white chiffon-ish blouse in the bottom left is also another favorite. So comfortable and perfect for layering. It is long enough to do the ever popular 90s knot or to leave one side untucked with a messy bun.

-Red checkered button up. Enough said. I mean what else could I say about it. I love it. White tank peeking out with dark jeans and a side braid. I wear it with the sleeves rolled up for an even more relaxed look.

Neutral Makeup Look feat. Maybelline, e.l.f., Benefit, Rimmel, Pixi

Hey there.

I been really inspired by pink/coral eyeshadow looks but I'm a neutral girl all the way when it comes to my makeup so I decided to start small. I had already used bella bamba blush by benefit on my cheeks when I decided to incorporate some into my eye look.

Here is everything I used...

1. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
2. e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow in Elegant
3. Bella Bamba boxed blush by Benefit
4. e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow in Royal
5. Endless Silky Eye pen in black by Pixi
6. Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender in Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascaras

I started with the Maybelline Color Tattoo as my base.
I didn't even put a primer on first. This is a really a fantastic product and the only cream product I have been able to use without experiencing any creasing. It is awesome and from the drugstore.

I always use e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow in Elegant as my inner corner highlight. It is perfect for brightening any look.

Next I used Bella Bamba on the the middle of the lid. It is a really shimmery pink and adds such a nice dimension to the look.

I took a little of the Royal e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow in the crease. It's a very dark, smoky, shimmery purple. I love it in the crease and how it pairs with the pink and the bronze.

With what I had left on the brush I took Royal under the eye.

I initially used the pencil liner and went over it with the L'oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense to wing it out.

I've always been a big fan of wearing two mascaras. Today I went with Rimmel and Benefit.

Here is the final look.

Chevron inspired nails >> raspberry+mint

Who doesn't love chevron, am I right?

The chevron design is really having a moment in the beauty, fashion, and decor worlds so I decided to incorporate the cute little stripes in my latest manicure.

This was the first time I tried these, so yes the stripes aren't perfect but I'll tell you what, I still love 'em! Annnnd I did the stripes freehand and I'm terrible at nail art so if I can do it somewhat decently so can you!

Here is what I used...

My accent nails are Re-fresh Mint by China Glaze with... oh no! I just realized I didn't take a picture of the sparkle top coat. Oh geez.

Okay I stopped writing, took the picture, and here is the sparkle top coat I used

They don't put the color name on the bottle but this is one of the L.A. Colors Color Craze nail polishes which retail for $1.00. The iridescent glitter is subtle && wearable but totally pretty.

Anyways, back to my other polishes. On the rest of my nails I used Radio City Rose by NYC. This is one of their In a New York Minute quick dry polishes and they really do dry quickly, I love it!

I created the chevron stripes with the L.A. Colors Art Deco nail art polish in black. It has a really long super skinny brush that makes creating the design very easy.
