My Beautiful Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Palette

So the happiest and saddest days of my life all in one week... Okay that's an exaggeration. But this came in the mail and 3 days later it dropped on my driveway and shattered... :( Words cannot describe the horror when I realized what fell. My beautiful shimmery shadows all over the driveway.... so heartbreaking. On the somewhat positive side, about half of them can still be used. I am hoping with my birthday coming up, my hubby might surprise me with a replacement.
Luckily I took pictures the moment I opened it so I have pictures of this amazing product!
Big Beautiful matte packaging...
Decent sized mirror...

88 gorgeous shimmer colors...

They are about the size around as a dime...

Close up on the first half of the colors...

And the other half...

This palette comes with every color and shade you can imagine! The pigmentation is phenomenal and the shimmer is just gorgeous. The tiniest bit of product goes so far, so even though it looks like their isn't much of each shade, you don't really need a lot to begin with. I can't think of a better way to spend $20.00. It was actually $19.95 and the cheapest shipping was $9.55 so it gets kind of pricey but did I mention 88 GORGEOUS SHIMMERY COLORS!! Oh my, I love it and I'm so sad mine is broken but I am going to make due with what I have.
I definitely recommend this palette to anyone who loves shimmery eye shadows and loves to play with eye makeup, I can't think of a single look you couldn't do with this palette.
Have you tried any of the Coastal Scents palettes? Do you prefer shimmer or matte eye shadows?

E.L.F. Haul # 4

It's here, It's here! My E.L.F. haul # 4 has arrived. Unfortunately, it sat in my landlord's mailbox for 2 days in 90 degree weather so some of the stuff was a little funky and melted but I am hoping it will go back to normal. So let the fun begin!

Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, $3.00

I am not sure what the texture of this is supposed to be like, but I'm thinking mine got affected by the heat because it has the weirdest texture like cottage cheese and jello... But I have heard really good things about this stuff so I am looking forward to trying this out!

My oh so favorite Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in plum, $1.00

Sorry I didn't get swatches, my camera died. I was kind of bummed with the color of this. It's too... wearable. What a silly complaint, I know. But I was really looking for a super purple (not bright but just obviously plum-y purple) and this is grayish black with a faint purple tint. But it's still a pretty color and I L-L-Love this eyeliner so all is well :)

Dramatic Lash kit and Natural Lash kit, $1.00 each

My first eye lashes! They are reusable, and so pretty and I'm so excited to have big pretty eyelashes. Although I have heard the glue is not of good quality so if anyone knows of some good eyelash glue, let me know because I am so out of my element here.

Nail Polish in (L to R) Pink Passion, Hot Pink, Mango Madness, and Matte top coat,

$1.00 each

So the first thing I thought when I saw these bottles was that they mis-labeled Passion Pink and Mango Madness because when I think of something being Mango I think of shades of orange and coral. But the colors are all so bright and fun and perfect for summer! :) Oh and the matte top coat! This thing is a beauty! I put it over my E.L.F. Nail Polish in Smoky Brown and it immediately made the polish matte. It's amazing!! Ahh I love it. I don't think I am going to use a regular shine top coat until this bottle is gone. It's soo cute!

Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Pink, $1.00

I am addicted to this stuff! And this color is so pretty. It shows up kind of sheer on my lips because of the darker red color of my lips but I can see a "perfect pink" difference.

Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Raspberry, $1.00

Gahh!! My first berry gloss and I looove it! The perfect wearable, not too pigemented but more than a clear gloss shine, kind of gloss. And just to recap, the texture is like silk, so smooth. I don't find it sticky in the least. And it has the twist up applicator at the bottom and the gloss comes through the sponge-y top. I loove this stuff. :)

Studio Minty Lip Gloss in Miami, $3.00

They weren't kidding when they said Minty. As soon as I twisted off the lid I could smell super strong mint almost like toothpaste (Which isn't neccessarily a bad comparison, I like toothpaste). The color is really pretty, it's a baby pink with lots of gold shimmer. One thing I noticed when I swatched this is that it felt really sticky but I haven't put it on my lips... so maybe it will feel less sticky on my lips... yeah probably not. But it's cute... :) That's a plus.

Mineral Lip Gloss in Pageant Princess, $3.00

As far as I can tell this is Miami re-packaged and not sticky... I will have to wear it to know the difference so stay tuned.

Mineral Lip Liner in Peachy, $3.00

This is a lot more orange than I was expecting... I haven't put it on my lips yet, so hopefully it's not as pigmented when I'm actually wearing it. The packaging is really nice though and it's really easy twist up application.

Mineral Lipstick in Rosy Raisin, $5.00

I love this color. It is natural and wearable, because my lips are on the darker side. It might look dark on someone with lighter lips. I love the formula. It's so smooth and creamy. I'm very excited to put this on.

All Over Color Stick in Golden Peach, $1.00

I have heard really good things about these all over color sticks. This is a really shimmery peachy bronze color that will make a really nice bronzer and highlight. It comes with very little product though, so hopefully a little goes a long way.

Elements Custom Eyes in Golden Glow, $1.00

Oh my goodness, this stuff is soo pigmented. I love it. It's so bright gold and shimmery. Ahhh I love it. Normally with the elements you create your own palette but I didn't want a whole palette, only this color interested me and it's gorgeous!
That is everything I got with this order. I am so excited to use these products and see how well they all work.
Have your tried any of these products from E.L.F.? Have your recently gotten an order in the mail? What did you get?

Things I'm looking forward to

1. I have a big E.L.F order that will hopefully be here on Tuesday!!!

2. I just ordered the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Eyeshadow Pallette last night!! Oh my goodness, I don't think I will be able to sleep until it gets here I am that excited! I have seen tons of videos about it on YouTube and everyone says it is $25.00 but I got mine for $19.95. So I don't know if they are having a sale or if they dropped the price but go get it if you have been on the fence about it. I will do a review when it gets here!

3. I have a small-ish E.L.F. order that just shipped this past Tuesday the 13th. Now in my defense, I don't order from E.L.F. every week like it seems. I actually made this order on 06/15/2010, it shipped on 06/21/2010, and arrived on 06/29/2010 (Don't ask me why it took a week to ship, because I have no clue!?) but my landlord didn't check her mail for over 10 days and my package got sent back :(( Luckily E.L.F.'s Customer Service representatives are a dream to work with and they re-shipped the package!! And I'm pretty sure they paid the shipping! I called their customer service line, explained what happened, and within 24 hours my order had re-shipped. I think I was on the phone for less than 5 five minutes. This is the second time I have had problems with the landlord checking the mail and have had to call E.L.F. about a shipment and they are always so nice. High quality products you can purchase for $1.00 to $8.00 AND they have great customer service, please give me another company that can boast that! Haha I'm rambling a litte...

With all the money I have spent lately on makeup I don't think I will be doing a whole lot as far as hauls but I have a lot coming to show you guys and this will be a chance to try my hand at reviews. Yesterday I did a really gorgeous smokey eye with Wet n Wild single in Penny and the Wet n Wild Ultimate Expressions eyeshadow pallete in Pink Sand so I think I will recreate that look and show you guys the look along with a review of my gorgeous WnW shadows.

That's all for now, I'm off to clean my apartment.

Do you have any fun online orders coming? Have you tried any of the Coastal Scents Palettes? What do you think? Done any hauls lately? What did you pick up?

Lip Products That Disappointed

At the risk of sounding negative, I needed to post about these oh so disappointing lippies.
Almay Pure Blends gloss in natural, Price Unknown

So I bought this at Rite Aid when it was on sale for 75% off. I tried to find the retail value online but was unsuccessful. I am so disappointed in this stuff!! I purchased it to layer over nude and light pink lipsticks, looks like it would be perfect right... yeah not so much. The first thing that went wrong with this product is when I opened it all that came out was a clear oil. It looked like olive oil was pouring out of my gloss. It was gross but I got over it because I figured it had been sitting there for a while and sometimes stuff separates. I squeezed some product onto my lips and my nose was immediately hit with the strong smell of PlayDough. This gloss has the incredibly salty smell of PlayDough. That alone is enough to make me never put it on again, but to top it all off this gloss has a sticky texture. So greasy, stinky, and sticky all in one product... you can imagine my disappointment.
Maybelline Wet Shine Fusion in Blush Boost, Price Unknown

I bought this at the dollar store about a year ago so I only paid $1.00 but it's not on their site anymore so I couldn't get the actual price. If you ask me, it's a good thing they aren't selling it anymore. Okay I take that back. Since I got it at the dollar store, perhaps it was a defective product to begin with. I just want to get it out of the way, this is a neon color. It is so bright on my lips, it's hideous. But that's partially my own fault for purchasing this color and their fault for making a shade this awful. I'm not sure where they got the name Wet Shine Fusion unless they are referring to the wet shine of my eyes as I cried when I saw this color on my lips. Yes that must be what they are referring to because I don't find it to be moisturizing at all. Although something it has going for it, it doesn't smell like PlayDough.

Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in Cherish, $1.00-$2.00

I still love the color of this gloss. I think it's so pretty! It ends there for me. The gloss is sticky and uncomfortable on my lips. The application is also pretty difficult which I know is surprising considering it's a doe foot applicator. When I pull the applicator out there is never any product on it. I have to dip it in, swirl it around, pump it a few time just to get a tiny bit of product. And then I repeat 3 times before my lips are covered. How annoying is that!? I think it goes back to the sticky texture though. I am rarely disappointed with my WnW purchases but this is one I don't recommend and won't repurchase.

Wet n Wild Natural Wear Lip Shimmer in Sugar

I don't know if you have ever tried Soft Lips before but they make shimmer and tinted chapsticks and a while back I purchased their shimmer chapstick in Pearl. I loved it because it had all the benefits of chapstick but in a girly shimmery pink. The only thing I didn't like was the price. It was somewhere between $3.00 and $4.00. So I when I saw this at Rite Aide for half the price of my beloved Softlips I picked one up. Lets just say if this product didn't have such cute packaging it would be an epic fail. The packaging is the only thing I like about this. First off this is purple not pink. And it's sooooo frosty. It's almost more frost than purple, which is saying something because it's quite purple. Even if I went and purchased a shade not so purple I think I would still be disappointed because of the large amount of frostyness. Again Wet n Wild has disappointed me. It rarely happens but I can't imagine anyone who likes to wear purple frost...
So what about you? Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them? What lip products weren't you impressed with lately?

My lip products! Well some of them :)

Hey Everyone! I thought I would show some of my favorite glosses and lipsticks I have accumulated over the last couple months.

First Up, E.L.F. Liquid Lipstick in Strawberry and Baby Lips, $1.00

So I have already talked about both of these but I thought I would do swatches of them anyways. They are so smooth and long lasting. I love these. I think Strawberry makes THE perfect Red Lip.
Candy Shop Lip Gloss in Melon Mayhem, Coconut Craze, and Mocha Maniac, Price Unknown

Now I understand those aren't the greatest swatches but these are very sheer glosses. These are semi-sticky and make for really inconvenient application BUT they look really cute layered over lipstick or by themselves to add little shimmer to your lips. I like to keep them in my purse for when I need gloss on the go and lets be honest, they are pretty cute. Oh and then best part, they taste DELICIOUS!
N.Y.C. Liquid Lip Shine in Pink Kiss, Iced Orchid, and Pink Sand, Approximately $2.00

I love love love Pink Sand. I wear it every day. It layers really well over nude lipsticks.. okay let's be honest they layer really well over everything. They have a doe foot applicator and a really nice texture. For the price you pay, you can't beat this product. Now I do have to say Pink Kiss is pretty frosty and not for everyday, but I still find it wearable. They come in a lot of colors and I totally recommend them.

N.Y.C. Ultra Last Lipwear in Rose Gold and Rose Petal, Approximately $2.00

Rose Petal was my first lipstick ever! I bought it last December for my hubby's company Christmas party and I have loved it every since. It's a really gorgeous and, as far as my normal lip color goes, dramatic berry red. It goes on really smooth as well. Rose gold it also beautiful. It has a lot more shimmer than Rose Petal and the flecks of gold make the texture slightly gritty but I love the color so much. It actually appears surprisingly natural on my lips. The perfect coral-gold-nude-pink... little bit of everything haha!
E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph and Nicely Nude, $5.00
I have talked about these before but they are so creamy and moisturizing I just can't get enough of them. If they weren't $5.00 I would own every single shade. And the black matte packaging is gorgeous and looks so luxe. Dear E.L.F. I wish these lippies weren't so expensive (compared to your other products) so I could feed my addiction with a new shade everyday. The End :)

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip color in Just Peachy (903C) and Think Pink (901B), $2.00-$3.00
Sorry I didn't get the names on the picture. For those of you who have tried these products you know the shade names are on the shrinkwrap packaging which means as soon as you rip it open to try it on, the name is gone. But I did a little digging on http://www.wnwbeauty.com and found their names. These lipsticks are soo pigmented and matte, which I love, but so drying. :( If only they could be moisturizing like my beautiful E.L.F. lipsticks. So make sure you wear chapstick!
And finally, Revlon Super Lustrious Lipstick Pearl in Silver City Pink, $6.00-$7.00

This is my most expensive lipstick... sad isn't it. I should branch out. But I just can't justify spending so much on one thing. I have been a cheapie shopper my whole life. ( Thanks Mom.) This is the lightest most delicate pink. I feel like such a lady when I wear this. I really want to try more shades from this collection, maybe I will splurge.... :)
So I hope you saw something that interested you. If you want me to do a review on anything or see more swatches just let me know.

E.L.F. Haul #3 (and some itty bitty reviewing)

Hey Everyone!
I hope you are all having the most fabulous Monday! I'm home today with a very sick kitten :( But what better way to cheer up than with another E.L.F. Haul! I really don't buy E.L.F. this often I am just hauling everything I have bought since I discovered E.L.F. in December of 2009. This particular Haul is from 06/12/2010. I only have 2 more E.L.F. hauls, one from 06/15/2010 and one from 07/01/2010. Although I am still so bummed I missed E.L.F.'s Annual Sale... I just can't believe I missed 60% off.... BahHumBug!
On to the haul!!
Studio Line Blush in Peachy Keen, $3.00
With Flash........................Without Flash
This is a beautiful peachy-pink with gold shimmers and I think it's perfect for summer!
Nail Polish in Desert Haze, $1.00
My picture.............E.L.F.'s Picture
I wanted to show E.L.F.'s picture and my own because there is often a lot of confusion about what the color will really look like when it arrives at your doorstep. Both pictures are very similar. This color is the lightest gray taupe I have ever used. To be honest it's too light for my skin tone and washes me out, but I think it'd be perfect for darker skin tones.
From Left to Right
Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black and Ash $1.00, Studio Angled Foundation Brush $3.00, Studio Blush Brush $3.00, Studio Concealer Brush $3.00, Studio Small Angled Brush $3.00, Mineral Blemish Powder & Brush $8.00
  • As I have said before the eyeliner pen is my HG liner. I love it. I was disappointed in Ash, it's the exact same as Black. I was really looking for a slat gray liner.
  • The foundation brush is my first brush for liquid product and I am really excited.
  • The blush brush is a smaller version of the complexion brush which makes it great for highlight and contour.
  • I haven't used the small angled brush but I plan to use it with my pretty coffee cream eyeliner.
  • I confused the concealer brush with the eye shadow "C" brush which is on it's way in the mail with a different order, and really hated it until today I was watching a video of pinkSUGARR09 on YouTube (Visit her here: http://www.youtube.com/user/pinkSUGARR09) and she was using the "C" brush which didn't look like mine and that's when I made the connection. Such a dumb blond moment lol! So when I use this for concealer I will let you know haha.
  • I haven't started using the Mineral Blemish Powder but it comes with a cute little brush that is super soft. I'm excited to use this because I have heard you really see results within a couple weeks. One thing that was disappointing is I thought the product would be bigger since it's the most expensive single product (Excluding palettes and sets) but there is only 0.10 oz of product which I would've known if I paid attention when I ordered. But I guess since it's mostly for spot treatment this should be enough.

Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph, $5.00
E.L.F.'s picture.......My Picture

I realize these look really similar but for some reason I was expecting it to be slightly more pinky. It's not. It kind of reminds me of concealer or a chalky primer. BUT it looks great when I layer pink glosses over it. Another plus of this product is that it's so pigmented it completely cancels out the natural color of my lips and not many lippies do that. So not the color I was anticipating but still a marvelous product. I LOVE the mineral lipsticks. (Another reason I can't get over that I missed the annual sale, they would have only been $2.00... Gah! My heart is broken a little....)
Candy Shop Lip Gloss in coconut crazed, price unknown
I have 3 of these Candy Shop Lip Tins and the reason I don't know the price is because I have gotten 1 for free with every order. After you place your order there is a place for you to enter 3 email addresses to share E.L.F. with friends and family and then they include a lip tin with your order. I looked for them on the site but couldn't find a price so mine were free and that might be the only way you can get them. I also have Melon Mayhem (coral) and Mocha Madness (brown with gold shimmer). They are sheer, shimmery, scented glosses that are good for throwing in your purse if your lips ever need a little glossy pick-me-up. I'm not a fan of lip products where you use your finger for application, but again they were free so who's complaining, right?
Okay that's everything from the haul #3. E.L.F. is really a fantastic company and I really recommend it to EVERYONE.
I hope you saw something you want to try.
gotta go back to taking care of the kitten

E.L.F. Haul #2 (cont'd)

Finally, I am going to finish my second E.L.F. haul! I'm not going to review them though. A short opinion or two but trying to review a whole haul is exhausting... which is probably why people don't do it. At least not all in one sitting. So here is the haul! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! E.L.F. Eye Lash Curler, $1.00I have never used an eye lash curler before so I thought this would be a good start. I have used it a few times already and am loving the results. It's a shame using an eye lash curler seems like such a daunting task because curled eye lashes are gorgeous!
Nail Polish in Chocolate, $1.00
I really like E.L.F. polishes. I don't generally spend more than $2.00 on a single polish so these are right in my price range. Now I would just like it to be known, I did not want this color! I had this and Mint in my shopping cart, I went to remove Chocolate and apparently removed Mint. You can imagine my surprise and disappointment when I opened my package and found this. One coat is so dark it looks black. Why buy a black brown when you could just buy a black!? I don't recommend this. The End.
Now on to a color I loooove....
Nail Polish in Lilac, $1.00
It takes 3 coats to reach it's true color and it's the perfect purpley color. This pastel is so popular right now! Why not snag it for $1.00?!
Nail Polish in Smokey Brown, $1.00
Another satisfying purchase from my favorite company! This is a perfect gray-ish tan. It takes the same 3 coats as lilac to reach perfection.

Studio Line complexion brush, $3.00
I love this brush. I didn't really use brushes before this but now I own the whole line. The brush is soooo soft and holds product really well. I use this for EVERYTHING! It works for blush, bronzer, and powder. (Pressed and Loose). If you don't have any brushes or don't want to spend the money on high end brands, order the E.L.F. Studio line because they are super high quality!
E.L.F. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Coffee, $1.00
I give you my Holy Grail eyeliner!
I have blond hair and medium light skin and frequently find black eyeliner looking too harsh on my face so I gravitate towards browns.
This is a beautiful brownish bronze. And the quality is fabulous. Thick, Thin, Straight, Smudged, Winged. I grab this brush EVERY time. It lasts all day. It comes in Black, Ash, Coffee, Midnight, and Plum. Trrrry It!
Eye Widener pencil in White, $1.00
Disappointing. Doesn't work on the waterline. Not pigmented enough to work anywhere else. I'm not giving up yet though. I will find a good use for this... I hope.
Natural Radiance Blusher in Flushed, $1.00
This blush is super soft, super pigmented, and SUPER pink... I have yet to pull it off. But it's beautiful to look at in the mean time.
Natural Radiance Blushed in Glow, $1.00
I had to use the picture off their website because before it ever touched my face all the product crumbled. :( I was so sad. Please take note of how this package opens. You apply pressure to the top and bottom and then pull them in opposite directions and it's difficult and annoying and now the product is a loose powder instead of pressed. As for the color, it's a lot more orangey red with tons of gold shimmer. (If you have tried E.L.F. you know they sure like there shimmer.) I have used it as eye shadow with browns and bronzy shades and it looks really pretty. Just a little thought.
Studio Line Cream Eyeliner in Coffee, $3.00
I had never tried a cream eyeliner before...

..Oh and I still haven't...
For the silliest reason ever, It looks so pretty. I don't want to mess it up. I bought a brush to use it with but I haven't been able to make my self ruin that perfect coffee colored swirl.. Plus I have my holy grail eyeliner pen. As soon as I can bring myself to use it I will let you know. For now, it sits as a beautiful decoration on my vanity.
Studio Line Bronzer in Golden, $3.00

I call it a highlighter.
But it's in the beautiful matte packaging of the whole studio line and it's a fantastic highlighter. It gives a beautiful natural glow.
So this is my 2nd E.L.F. haul. I have 3 more to go.... I'm slightly obsessed with this company.
Ahhh... Can I rant for a second though. They just had their Annual Sale of 60% off and I missed THE WHOLE THING. It ended this past Tuesday and I didn't hear about it until tonight... :( I'm so upset. It case you haven't thought it through, that makes my HOLY GRAIL EYELINER $0.40... I am going to bed heartbroken tonight.
Night everyone!
xoxo
