Haul (w/ swatches): eos, Burt's Bees, Maybelline, Revlon, Rimmel, L'Oreal, CoverGirl, L.A. Colors

Hey Ladies!

I have a few things to show you that I picked up from a few trips to Walmart and Family Dollar.

eos lip balm in Lemon Drop

These are my all time favorite lip balms. I already have Summer Fruit and Honeysuckle Honeydew (which I left in my car and it melted but I didn't know it was in my car so overnight it hardened back to lipbalm texture and now it is just funny shaped) so I was glad to see my Walmart had this flavor as well.

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Tiger Lily

Although I felt totally misled as to the actual size of this lip balm (that packaging is ridiculous), I'm really glad I got this. It has a very sweet scent but it super moisturizing.

CoverGirl Lip Perfection lipstick in Kiss

I was so happy with the last shade I bought from this line that I decided to pick up another one. This shade is really frosty which I wasn't expecting but I think applied sheerly with a gloss over top it will be a nice nude-esque coral.

Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in Crush

I am loving this coral color! This line of lipsticks have a pretty strong "lipstick" smell but they really are very creamy and moisturizing.

Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Demure

I realize I bought three really similar colors... but I swear I needed all of them....
I am quite pleased with this light rosy pink and these Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks apply so nicely.

L.A. Colors 5 Color Metalliz Eyeshadow in Ammunition

These shadows are ridiculously soft and pigmented. I was shocked when I swatched these. I have two other pallets from this line and I don't think they are as soft and pigmented. These colors are really nice. The light silver and the silvery lilac are really similar and I don't know if I would be able to see the difference between them on my eyes. The same goes for the two charcoal colors, but it was only $1.50 and the actual product is really good quality.

Maybelline Stylish Smokes quad in Natural Smokes

This was the only shade from the whole line that was on sale and it was the only one I wanted even before I knew that! I scored this for $3.97! The colors are pretty but the formula isn't as nice as I expected. They are pretty hard and take some building up to get good color payoff.

Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow in Precious Metals

I have another one of these in Not Just Nudes and they work so well I really wanted to get another quad. This was a nice medium between neutral and color. The colors are very wearable.

L.A. Colors Pearl Metallic Liquid Eyeliner in Black Pearl

I am trying to get better at using actual liquid liner and not just eyeliner pens. This was only $1.00 and I love the color. It's a really nice metallic charcoal.

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black waterproof mascara in Carbon Black

I was in need of a new mascara and decided to try this one since I have heard so much about it and it was only $5.48. I haven't used it yet but I'm really excited to see how it looks.

Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder in 120 Classic Ivory

I was watching this video and she said this was one of her favorite drugstore powders. If this doesn't work out for me I think I will try the Maybelline Dream Matte powder but I had a  coupon for the Fit Me! line so this is what I decided to try.

Those are all the makeup goodies I have picked up. I have a small nail polish haul and an odds and ends haul coming up. I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!

My picks from LC by Lauren Conrad for Kohls

I have always been a huge fan of Lauren Conrad and I've always wanted to buy clothes from her line at Kohls but have never actually looked at the selection. I was surprised at how much I didn't love the line. I find that so weird, I thought I would love everything but I had to look pretty hard for the things above.
Regardless, I do like the things I picked out.
It's all very girly, feminine, and ruffly.

What do you think of this line?

My husband's two favorite hobbies are farming and participating in demolition derby.
I'd never have believed it 5 years ago but I actually love watching a bunch of old cars crash into each other... who would have guessed!?

E.L.F. Haul #14 with swatches

Hey there!
It has been way too long since I have done an e.l.f. haul, I have definitely missed them!
e.l.f had 50% OFF all Studio products and I decided to take advantage of the sale.
{I'm telling you, if you don't keep track of e.l.f.'s sales you really need to because you can get such a deal on cosmetics that are already a steal}

First up I will show you the brushes I got

I re-purchased the Studio Powder brush, Blush brush, and Eyeshadow brush

These are my favorite three brushes of all the brushes I own.

The new brushes I decided to try out were the Small Smudge brush and the Contour brush.

I'm not sure how much I like the smudge brush. Without knowing the name of this brush, I would never guess it was supposed to be a smudge brush. The bristles are very short, dense, and stiff. I think I will end up using it for cream eyeliner.

I'm definitely loving the contour brush. I have been using it as blending brush for my crease. I prefer a tapered brush to actually apply my crease color but this is the perfect size and density to blend out the crease color.

Okay those were all 5 brushes I bought. Next up, the makeup goodies I bought.

Face:

Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink
(left) With Flash   (right) Without Flash

holycrazygoldglitter! This is my most glittery blush I own. The pink aspect of the color is very pretty but the blush is so full of glitter it makes the blush a lot less wearable. I think you could pull this off applied with a light hand, when you have an awesome tan, and if you are going out at night. When wearing this you could probably go without a highlighter and would want to use in combination with a matte bronzer to balance out the glitter.

Lips:

Studio Matte Lip Color in Natural and Tea Rose

I love these! I have been using them non-stop. The colors (at least these shades) are so nice and natural, which make them really easy to use everyday. They are easy to use on the go and moderately long lasting. Matte products have the reputation for being drying. I haven't noticed these make my lips more dry than they were to begin with but they definitely don't add moisture to my lips. To be safe, use a lip balm!

Eyes:

Studio Cream Eyeshadows in Smoke and Pewter

I'm so very obsessed with these cream eyeshadows! They are so pretty on their own and they are a great base for powder eyeshadows. They are ridiculously long lasting. When I swatched these on my hand they stayed as long as my waterproof eyeliners. I couldn't get them off with just water and they wouldn't budge! Great product!

Studio Cream Eyeliners in Punk Purple and Gunmetal

I love these cream liners. I have purchased black, brown, bronze, a forest green, a plum purple, and now I have a gray and bright purple. I would say about half of those came completely dry or pretty dry. The other half of the liners I have purchased are so creamy they apply like a liquid. Gunmetal is the perfect creamy texture. Punk Purple is more dry but still usable. You would think after so many of these arrive at my doorstep dried out I would stop buying them. I love them so much that I just have to keep my fingers crossed they arrive in perfect condition.

Free Gift

e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color in Ivy

I never purchase these on my own, but I can't make an order without getting my free gift. I was pretty happy with the colors in this quad. The bronze and mauve are my favorite. The shadows are all very soft and pigmented. I think the reason I don't get more use out of these is because of the awkward shapes and angles of the pan.

That's everything I got, I hope you enjoyed the post and perhaps saw something you want from e.l.f.

Good sale going on at e.l.f. right now?

Free Shipping with any order of $25.00 or more.
Code: SHIP25
If you're new to e.l.f. coupon codes, they can't be combined. Only one per order.
I'm always a sucker for free shipping because I hate paying $7.00 when that could have been 7 products!

“Honesty is for the most part less profitable than dishonesty.” -Plato

Once upon a time
my husband asked if I wanted to accompany him while he ran some errands for work. since i was just sitting at home blog stalking of course i said yes! things went so well that we got dinner while we were out {hooray for not making dinner}
after dinner the husband said to me
"do you want to come to the farm with me?"
quickly racing through my head were all the thoughts determining whether or not I wanted to go to the farm..... Why not to go to the farm? It's hot out. There are lots of mosquitoes. I had nothing to read or look at to entertain myself. My jeans were far to tight to ride on the four wheeler with him for an hour. I don't particularly love being at the farm for long periods of time. Why to go to the farm? it's time spent with the husband. it's nice to be outside. it's nice to get out of the apartment. i get in less trouble for doing nothing at the farm than when i do nothing at home {either way it's doing nothing but the husband doesn't care if the housework isn't done if i have been sitting around at the farm}
since the pros and cons were clearly even I decided to make it up to the husband
"would it make you happier if i came to farm?"
his response would have been induced awws and fuzzy feelings and googly eyes and hand holding if he had simply uttered yes but what did he really say?
   "it would be quicker for me" {as in quicker not to have to drive me home first}

needless to say, i came home and did two loads of towels and folded his clean clothes because i would rather do housework than spend an hour thinking about that cute moment fail. {clearly that didn't work since i'm blogging about it}.

oh husband, when will you learn.
i guess i just need to be grateful for my extra honest and far too practical husband

House Blog: Inspirations&Collages

Whilst surfing sites for décor and home furniture I decided to make a collage or two
I combined items from Ikea, Target, and Kohls

I like the idea of white furniture with bright floral accents.
I feel like this room would be so girly, fun, and would brighten up my mood every time I went in. I like the mix of modern white pieces with more vintage-y florals and wicker.

While feeling so inspired by the pieces above, I also put together

I love this combination of purples, blacks, white, blues, wrought iron. This is much more modern. Not as light and airy as the first room but still has a nice mix of light and dark. I think this would be a relaxing room to have soft lighting and lots of candles.
I feel like, realistically, even though I like the second room and put it together and love the idea of it, the first room is more of my style. But who knows. Putting this room together seems so far away with all the other things in the house that need to come first but it's my favorite to think about!
