"Guess what happens if you hide no bake cookies in your underwear drawer... your unawears smell like chocolate!" -You know who you are

Once upon a time
I ran away this past weekend
I spent Friday night, Saturday, and the first part of Sunday just hanging out with sister
We ordered heavenly Papa John's pizza on Friday night
Saturday we ate the leftover aforementioned pizza then that night we made killer chicken tacos
they were seriously the bomb
Spicy chicken street taco (inspired) with fresh pico de gallo (is that how you spell that?!)
Gahhh I can't stop thinking about them. mmmmmm
Late late late that night we went in search of dessert and ended up with Churros and Cheesecake bites from Del Taco.

What did we do other than eat?
Loads of TV, DVR, laughter, and craziness. Oh and sleep. Lots of good sleep.

I had such a good weekend. It was so relaxing and nice to get out of my small town and do something other than my regular weekend routine.

Beauty Ticket 5-pc Mystery Bag with swatches

Hi ladies!
I was looking around on www.beautyticket.com when I came across their 5 Piece Mystery Bags. You choose the complexion and they send you a bag of 5 products. You don't know what you are getting but they do try to base it off of your complexion. Each bag is $20.00 and on their site it says the retail value is $75.00. There was nothing else on the site I really wanted but was so intrigued with the Mystery Bag that I put in an order for the Light Complexion- Warm Shades Mystery bag.

Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow

This was the product I was most excited about. I love eyeshadows and more importantly, I love neutral eyeshadows. These are gorgeous colors. It is seriously everything you need for a neutral eye look whether for day or night. I'm really excited about the matte colors. I don't use a lot of matte eyeshadows, but I love these. The bronze is super pigmented and shimmery. It helps balance out the matte colors. The two champagne cream colors aren't as pigmented but can be built up on the lid for more impact.

Here is the look I have done everyday for a week with this palette. I'm so obsessed, it's the only colors I have been using.
My base is NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk

I love the look and I love this palette. I couldn't find this exact palette on Lancome's website but they have this same line and have these same shades just not in the same combination. The palette's online retail for $42.00. (What a STEAL!!)
Paula Dorf Magic Stick in #3

The packaging of this product is really nice. It has the velvety matte feel of NARS packaging. The shade is a little too dark for me but it's very slight. On the Paula Dorf website this is still available and retails for $22.00

Jelly Pong Pong lip sorbet in Sugared Pear

This is my least favorite of the products I got. The texture scent etc of the gloss is good but the color is really outside my comfort zone. Even when applied sheerly it's a little too orange and bronze for my liking.

Goldie Alice in Wonderland Lip Plump gloss in Mad Hatter

I was surprised how different this color looks on the lips from what you see in the tube. I'll admit, I was scared to apply it. Luckily it applies very sheerly. I don't love that this is a plumping gloss however, of the few plumping glosses I have tried, this one works the best. It has the typical slightly burning feeling but I actually see results and the burning/tingling actually makes my lips begin to feel numb. It's different than any other lip plumper I have tried in some aspects but the slight plumping is short lived as is the tingly feeling. Then you are left with plain old glossy lips. These goldie products are no longer available but from the research I did, it retailed for $10.00.
Senna Double Dose Lip Lacquer in Taboo

This gloss is also outside of my comfort zone but I think it is pretty and I have actually worn this out of the house. It goes really well with a bronzed makeup look and beachy waves in my hair. This gloss might just be the stickiest gloss I have ever worn. The upside to the stickiness? It stays on my lips forever!

Top: Alice in Wonderland gloss
Middle: Jelly Pong Pong gloss
Bottom two: Senna

All Product Swatches

I'm really happy with the bag I got. I think it is such a good value and the products are great! It was very exciting not knowing what I was going to get. I would definitely recommend trying the mystery makeup bag! A part of me really wants to buy another one but I think I would get all the same products... what do you think?

Have any of you tried the Mystery Makeup Bag? What shade did you buy? What came in your bag? I'm so curious what other people get in their bags!!

Review: Nair Hair Remover Face and Wax strips

Now I realize no woman wants to talk about facial hair unless she is discussing sexy man scruff

like this

But it happens, it's real, hair does grow on a woman's face. 12/22/2010 was the first time I dealt with facial hair (yes it made that much of an impact, I remember the date).
It was the first time I waxed my face.
Everyone has tiny baby hairs all over their face. The few fortunate have very light very fine baby hairs and don't have to deal with them. For everyone else, they are a hassle.
My trouble area? The upper lip. The baby hairs there are a little darker and thicker for some reason and I finally decided it was time to do something about it.

Here is what I used!

Nair Hair Remover Face Wax Strips

I bought these back in December '10 and I don't remember the price. They are from Walmart and couldn't have cost much more than $4.00 or $5.00.

{instructions}

I really like this product. The strips work well at removing all the hair from the area it has been applied to. Obviously it hurts a little when you pull the strip off but if you follow the instructions it really isn't that bad. The results are worth it to me for the 1 or 2 seconds of tender tingle-y skin.

In the box you get...
Large Strips

I haven't actually used the large stripes yet since they are too big for my upper lip. I think when I am ready to use them I will cut them in half so they are long and thin. That will make them the perfect size.
Small Strips

The small strips are what I have been using. A few months ago I got brave and decided to wax my own eye brows. I used the small strip to get all the crazy hairs that aren't necessarily a part of my brow. I'm not brave enough to use them for actually shaping my brow because I think I would ruin my brows but they provide a super quick way to maintain my brows.

Soothing Post-Wipe

And finally the soothing post-wipe which I don't particularly love or understand. You get like 15 strips in the box but only 2 or 3 wipes. What was their logic there? The wipes are really greasy/oily. In my opinion they feel uncomfortable when rubbed all over the face. I don't like oily. But they are the best at removing any sticky blue residue.

Which brings me to my next point, the con of this product. Sometimes there are little patches of sticky blue that is left on my face. I don't know why this happens but it is near impossible to get off! Luckily, no one waxes their face as they are running out the door so you should be good to get the little patch of blue goo off your face before presenting yourself to the public.

Overall, this product does what it claims. It's easy to work with. There is virtually no mess and only a little clean up required if you have some blue goo patches.
If you suffer from unsightly facial hair, I would recommend trying out a hair removal product. It has helped me feel more confident and my overall makeup application to the areas that are waxed is so much smoother and flawless

Review: ONYX Professional 100% Pure Acetone

Hey ladies!
I wanted to give you guys my thoughts on this nail polish remover I have been using almost two months. I hauled it here.

ONYX Professional 100% Pure Acetone

100% pure acetone is so amazing for removing nail polish. I absolutely love it. This is the only brand I have used so I can't compare it to anything else but compared to regular polish remover, it's fantastic. It makes even chunky glitter polish come off in seconds!

You stick your nail in here

Hold it for a few seconds and then rub your nail on the bristles.
The polish is gone like that {implying it's super fast!}

Something to be careful of?
Acetone is really drying to your skin. I don't have sensitive skin so if you do, proceed with caution. If your skin doesn't get irritated easily and you want to try this out then you are going to need a good lotion near by.
Each time I have taken my nail polish off I have used

Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme
{as you can tell, it's almost gone!}

I use this between each nail polish removal. I stick my nail in the acetone and once the polish is off I immediately moisturize that finger. I haven't experienced any overdrying. My cuticles are fine. Nothing is peeling or cracked. It takes another second but it's really worth it. I really wouldn't use the acetone without a really good moisturizer.

I 100% recommend this 100% acetone (hahah I'm so clever)
