a day in pictures

last week my mom and sister came down for a little overnight visit
i decided to document our day

for breakfast we made delicious parfaits.
light vanilla yogurt, just bunches granola, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, and peach

met this adorable puppy outside of a local thrift store

and inside was her very large brother, King

 the creepiest bunny ever. unexplainable.

i want this tea set, very much

okay, now this next thing. i just don't understand how this happens.
let me explain
i live in a very small town. very small. where the only option for buying basically anything is the local and very small Walmart. the people who live here have lived here forever. so stumbling across this at the thrift store for $15.00 was a little unexpected...

i die. it's the only dior i have ever touched, and this is vintage. thrift store gold i tell you.

this on the other hand is just plain silly i think

later we found a family of baby pigs.

after they left, mr. stubbs and i had homemade chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese for dinner

i only picked up a few things from the thrift store, here are the goods

i'm going for a country/farm house look in my house, especially my kitchen. they are also my favorite thing to search for at thrift store.

i'm also quite excited to decorate my house for the christmas holiday

i love october
so many fall things were not documented
{even a winter thing snuck into October, our first snow!}
i got a bajillion cool pumpkins from work
i didn't take pictures with my camera but i have some on my phone i will try to post
they really are the coolest pumpkins, ever
a recent snow and freeze done killt those pumpkins dead and frozen
i'm really quite depressed about it
i wanted them to live forever

we finally bought our ikea cabinets. they have not been installed yet but adam has them almost all put together. not to jump about here but we got 9 trick or treaters on halloween. rather sad that 9 made me happy, but i was afraid we wouldn't get any. blasted trunk or treating has ruined halloween. {rant for another day}

i read a bought! i bought a random book from walmart and i read it. i never read books anymore. it's called

beautiful creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

it compares itself to twilight, true blood, and is described as a teen gothic romance or something like that. i liked it. a lot. and there are two or three more that come after it. so. i will have to buy another book. the end.

my house is sort of a mess. which makes me sad because i was doing so good at keeping it clean and now it's a mess. much like the tangles in my too long hair. okay those were not related. but my house is a mess and i need to find the motivation tonight in my sleep to hop out of bed in the morning and clean clean clean. secondly, my hair is overgrown. much too long. much too thick and dead and split-endy. so it tangles really really easily. which in turn makes me feel so juvenile. what adult gets knots in their hair. sheesh brittany. hair fail. i just don't trust anyone to cut it. {i used to get my hair cut like every other month and i didn't care what the hair dresser did. then i moved to hickland and every time without fail i walk out mulleted southern belle texas mama curled and sprayed. i can't go through it again. the the hair continues to grow and the tangles tangle.}

i won a subway gift card at work for my halloween costume. i'm craving me some subway breakfast.

i have a new magazine obsession. it's kind of nerdy/old lady of me but it fits the time in my life right now, sort of.

this old house

it's bomb. leave me alone. i get really excited to see it in the mail box. i read it all in one sitting. the decoration and diy-ness of it is fantastic. plus, i too have an old house. built in like 1900 i believe. i should figure out for sure. don't let me forget that.

my mom and sister are coming down this next tuesday and staying until wednesday evening. i'm taking wednesday off from work and there will be much fun together. i'm so glad i don't live at home, am not a teenager, and am not in high school anymore. i truly enjoy being friends with my mother which i never was growing up.

it's 1 in the morning. remember how i want to hop out of bed and clean my whole house. yeah, so far things aren't looking good. oh, on an unrelated note, tomorrow is supposed to be our third snow! i'm oddly excited every time it snows. i will get over it soon i'm sure, but for now i'm quite excited! especially after the delicious dinner i made for snow number 2. we had potato soup, grilled cheese, and hot cocoa. delish.

okay okay okay, i must go. i need sleep. so i can clean and eat subway and such. i will try not to wait over a month for an update. we shall see.

Sephora Haul: Benefit, Tarte, Buxom, Lancome, Kat Von D, Smashbox

Online Sephora order number two!
Guys, I'm just addicted.

Here are the goods

The samples
I got a sample of the Justin Bieber perfume (which actually smells good, what?!?)
Dr. Brandt Pores No More pore refiner
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster
Then I used a Promo code and got a sample size Clinique Acne Solutions Emergency Gel-Lotion

I have not sampled any of my samples yet, but I should get on it.

Benefit Feelin' Cheeky Minis

Posie tint (bright pink stain), High beam (highlight), Benetint (rosy stain)
I've wanted to try these for so long and I'm so glad I finally have them. They are amazing! I love High Beam and Benetint on my cheeks and Posie tint on my lips under a clear gloss. The two tints are liquid consistency while the high beam is a little thicker and more creamy. Benetint is slightly fragranced with rose.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip set
(Left to Right)
Benefit benetint (Yeah, I know. I have two now. The whole set was worth it), Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Leslie (this is plumping but a tingling cold kind of plumping, I love it!), Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss in Fame (amazingly smooth formula), Lancome Juicy Tubes Jelly in Berry Bold (crazy sticky but lasts forever and smells exactly like a Jolly Rancher, delish!), Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint in Moody (it's a big crayon meant for your lips!), and finally Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Celebutard (tiniest, cutest little lipstick ever and is such a gorgeous nude peach color).

Shining Stars Limited-Edition Best Sellers Collection
(left to right)
EmphasEYES Waterproof Clay Liner in Black
Cheek Stain in Flush
Lights, Camera, Lashes! Natural Mascara in Black
LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint in Enchanted

I haven't used any of these except for swatching however, the cheek stain is apparently all natural and it smells amazing. All cirtrusy and yummy. But in a subtle real way not icky and fake.

Benefit Project Flawless set

Bella Bamba blush (watermelon pink)

Ultra Shines lip gloss in Foxy Lady (shimmery rose)

A Little Bit BADgal Lash Mascara in black

Girl Meets Pearl (face highlight) (pearly golden pink)

Swatches!

I got so many fun things with this order. I think my favorites are

Bella Bamba blush
and the combination of the
Kat Von D lipstick and the Buxome gloss
it makes the most perfect glossy nude lip!

In an effort to keep up my with addiction I tried to make another small order the other night for some Urban Decay eyeliners but the website was being lame and wouldn't let me get anything. I'm really bummed because I had picked out some really good perfume samples! BLAST!

Oh well. Better for my wallet I guess... I guess...

Sephora Haul: Smashbox, Korres, Benefit

For my birthday my sister gave me a Sephora gift card and my husband gave me a Visa gift card. I used up the gift card from my sister and put some of my Visa gift card towards my order.
I had never bought anything from Sephora before and was super excited to finally pick out some goodies.

Samples!
The sample selection was a little disappointing when I got to the end of my order. I chose the only two perfumes offered and then went with a foundation because everything else was meant for aging skin or men. I didn't even take an individual photo of Sephora foundation sample because it was legit orange and horrible so I threw it away.

Flower by Kenzo

This perfume is so very old lady scented.

DKNY for women

Holy-Moly delicious. This stuff smells soooo good! It is deliciously amazing. It's so fresh and long lasting. I love it. (And apparently wearing it will make you a hot blonde in NYC making out with random strangers via taxi windows...)

Benefit One Prime Day deluxe sample set

(Left to Right)
"that gal" brightening face primer, the POREfessional PRO balm, Stay Don't Stray primer

I wasn't in need of anything in my makeup collection so I decided to buy sample sizes of high end brands that I have never been able to try before. so far I love the POREfessional balm, it makes my pores magically disappear. It's also lightly fragranced, which I normally hate but this smells so nice. I have used the Stay Don't Stray a few times but don't have an opinion yet. I haven't used the primer yet either.

Smashbox Try It Kit

(Left to Right)
Photo Finish foundation primer, Photo Finish Lid Primer, Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx, Hyperlash Mascara in black, Lip Enhancing lip gloss- Sheer Color in Illume

Gahh! I love this set! I was so excited to try Smashbox and I love everything in the set. I'm obsessed with the two primers, they are FANTASTIC. The gloss is probably my favorite gloss I've ever tried. The mascara has a really cool wand that is great for separating lashes.

Now these were all sample sizes so I wanted to give you an idea of how big a "deluxe" sample size is
(Really I just wanted to show you my cute new brush from Walmart!)

So yes, they are small but they are expensive brands that I wouldn't normally buy. And, I don't use them everyday so these will definitely last me a while (except for maybe that gloss, I wear it all the time!)

Korres Buttered Up set in Jasmine

I have heard and seen so much about these Korres Lip Butters and was thrilled when I saw they had a little set of the lip butter and the lip butter glaze. The color is gorgeous and it smells subtly sweet. The product is so smooth and creamy. I'm obsessed.

Smith's Rosebud Salve

This is another product I have seen and heard about all over YouTube. I bought my own and I love it. It is faintly rose scented but majorly moisturizing. I love it! It can be used as a lip balm or on dry skin patches on hands, arms, etc.

These are all the fun things I picked up from Sephora. I actually got these back in September and have made and received another order from Sephora since then. So look for that post soon! I have tons of fun brands to show you! Thanks for sticking with me, I know my posting has been sporadic lately.
Love you all!
