Walmart Haul

Had to fill a prescription again... left with a bag full of goodies. I think I am going to have to stop carrying my makeup coupons with me everywhere I go, otherwise I think up fabulous excuses to use them. If I knew I had a coupon at home, I sure wouldn't buy the thing the coupon is for... hmm I might have to consider this... But in the meantime, here are the goodies!

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base, 0.5 oz
Originally $10.97, Minus $2.00 coupon, Total: $8.97!
I almost bought this at Walgreens for like $13.00 over Labor Day Weekend so I'm really glad I waited!

I don't know if there are words to describe how excited I am for this tiny little jar of product. I have wanted it so bad for so long. But can I please emphasize how small this jar is. The average nail polish is 0.5 OZ.... and this stuff is supposed to go all over my face, everyday...? I'm pretty disappointed in the size, but if it works wonders maybe it will be worth it. So I will keep you posted, maybe you only need the tiniest amount and that's how it last longer than a week. Either way, I'm super excited to FINALLY own this stuff!

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Color Smokes eye shadow in Lavender Smokes
Originally $5.97, Minus $1.00 coupon, Total $4.97!

So the colors altogether in a palette look so pretty. And the dark smokey purple is Ahmaaazing! The gold is pretty and decently pigmented, same with the bronze. But then you get to the mauve... and is soo disappointing. You can hardly see it. The small amount you can see on my finger is after several attempts to pack on the color. But overall I think I like the palette and I am really excited to do a look with all 4 colors.

Maybelline Lasting Drama by EyeStudio Gel Eyeliner in Eggplant (with brush)
Originally $6.98, Minus $2.00 coupon, Total: $4.98

I really am going through a purple phase... and I LOVE it. I have high hopes for this to actually look purple when I'm wearing it. As far as the 24-Hour claim, I swatched some on my arm (but couldn't get a good picture) and vigorously rubbed it with my finger for 10-20 seconds and there was not the slightest smudging. I was shocked! And really excited to use this!!

Rimmell Lasting Finish Pro in Desert Rose, $3.47

The jury is still out on this shade... I was looking for a fall shade unlike any others that I have. This is definitely different from anything I have and it's definitely a fall shade... I think I will have to wait until I actually put it on to finally decide. other than the shade, I have never tried a Rimmel nail polish before but the bottles were so cute, I couldn't pass this up! I have definitely found my favorite nail polish bottle. It has a crown on the top of the lid, it's so cute!

Maybelline Cover Stick corrector concealer in Yellow

Originally $5.97, Minus $1.00 coupon, Total: $4.97

Some mornings I have the craziest undereye circles like I have a black eye, other mornings they are perfectly normal. It's been a while since I have used a concealer, so I decided to give this stuff a try. I have used it once and it was a little cakey, but I was in a hurry and I don't think I blended it out very well. I am going to keep trying and see if maybe I am using too much or not blending enough.

Those are all the goodies I bought on this trip, I really think I am going to have to lay off the hauling, maybe I will save up for a few weeks and do an E.L.F. or some other kind of online haul, I love getting packages in the mail! We will see, either way I'm going to try to focus on doing posts that aren't all hauls.

Have you tried the Magic Perfecting Base? What do you think of it? Tried any of the other things I got? Leave your comments down below, I'd love to hear what you've been buying lately.

EOTD #2

I had so much fun doing my first EOTD post that I couldn't wait to do another one, literally, I couldn't wait! :) My last EOTD was a shimmery neutral look. This one is still shimmery but it's a silvery smokey eye with purple! Lately I cannot get enough purple when it comes to my eye makeup and I love this combination of silvery and purple!
So here is the finished look. (Sorry my pictures aren't very good, they are taken in artificial lighting.)
This is kind of step by step what it looked like as I was doing my make up. I had planned on taking a picture each time I put a different shade on or a different product but when I start doing my makeup I get lost in my own little world and I totally forgot. So I took a picture showing my bare but primed eyes, then the silver I used as my base but then it jumps all the way to already having the purple, charcoal black, and lining my bottom lash line... Sorry!!
Here are the products I used to create this look. As far as eyeshadows go I used a couple palettes but only the shades with a green dot were used.
(From Left to Right)

1. E.L.F. eyelash curler
2. Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara in Extreme Black
3. CoverGirl LashBlast Volume in Black
4. E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
5. E.L.F. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Plum
6. E.L.F. Studio eyeshadow "C" brush
7. 3 Sonia Kashuk for Target eyeshadow brushes
8. Wet n Wild Coloricon eyeshadow trio in Don't Steal My Thunder, I used the charcoal black and the silver
9. Wet n Wild Coloricon eyeshadow palette in Lust, I used the matte purple and the shimmery teal-ish black
10. N.Y.C. Color Wheel Mosaic eye powder in Purple Rain

After packing on the silver shadow all over my lid, I lightly darkened the outer corner and crease with the black from the trio. (Oh I started with primer all over my lid and a little on the bottom lash line.) I didn't want it to be to dark. I followed that with the the matte purple shadow on my inner corner. It ended up being a little too dark so I lightened it up a bit with Purple Rain. I felt like I had kind of lost the shimmery silver so when I finished with the other shadows I went back and added more silver right in the center of my eyelid. I love having a shimmery color right there at the fullest part of my lid because it really reflects the light hitting it and makes my eyes pop!
I lined my eyes with the teal-black shade. It really only looked black but I knew there were teal shimmers, even if no else did, so I thought it was a fun color to use. You can't really tell in any of the pictures I posted (sorry!) but using my angled brush and the left over teal-black from lining my eyes, I took the brush and winged out my eyes a little. It was very subtle and not something I normally do but it look really cool.
I did my usual medium thick line of liquid liner on the top lash line and I curled my lashes. But for my mascara I switched out my usual Rimmel Lycra Extender for the Rimmel Sexy Curves and followed up with my Lashblast. I love using two mascaras. I feel like every mascara has something different to offer so why not use more than one, right!?
I hope you liked this look and it gave you some ideas for the next time you do your eye makeup!
What do you guys think of these EOTD posts? Would you rather I left out the explanation of how I did it, stop doing them altogether, or do you like seeing some of the eye looks I am doing? How did you do your makeup today?! Let me know below!

Little Weekend Shopping

I had such huge plans for my drugstore trip this past weekend, unfortunately the sales I posted about weren't all going on at my local stores. Luckily, I was still able to take advantage of the Neutrogena and CoverGirl sales but those were the only ones going on in my area. Maybe I will take the money I would have spent and put it towards an E.L.F. order... TBD. I only got a few things but here they are...

Neutrogena SkinClearing oil-free makeup
Microclear Technolgy
Blemish Treatment with Salicylic Acid
1 FL OZ in Natural Ivory 20
Originally $13.99, On sale at Rite Aid for 40% OFF making it $8.39, Minus $3.00 coupon
GRAND TOTAL: $5.39

I am so excited for this foundation for a couple reasons. First, I realize this isn't going to make my face miraculously free of blemishes however, if it doesn't clog my pores and maybe does a little bit of good in the process then I'm all for it. Second, while standing in front of the 15+ shades of the foundation I picked up this bottle and used the tiniest drop on the back of my hand to match the shades. After blending out the tiny drop the shade was flawless against my skin but more importantly the pores on my hand covered by the foundation were gone. Completely disappeared. It was like all the little imperfections on my skin were invisible. I couldn't believe it. My sister and I stood there staring at the little invisible circle on my hand, it was ridiculous! I couldn't believe it and had to buy it! (The price I paid was pretty good too!)
Freshcomplexion pocket powder foundation
10.5 g in Classic Ivory 610
Originally $7.60, On sale BOGO making them $3.80 each, Minus 2 $1.00 OFF coupons

GRAND TOTAL: $2.80 each
I love this powder! I love BOGO Free sales! And I love skin clearing, oil absorbing facial products. 'Nuff said.

Nivea Strawberry Tinted Lip Care SPF 4 0.17 OZ
Originally $2.99, Minus $1.00 off coupon
GRAND TOTAL: $1.99
Looks So Red!!
I have never really used a tinted lip balm before and I LOVE this stuff. It is such a sheer gorgeous red. And it's so moisturizing, I'm addicted. However, I do think the SPF 4 is a joke. Why even put the 4 in there lol. Oh well, some is better than none, right? Either way, the color is gorgeous and I totally recommend this tinted lip balm.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them? Did you buy anything fun lately? Let me know in the comments below!

My first EOTD (Eye of the day!) and pretty much my everday eye routine...

So I have never done an EOTD before because I wasn't sure how well my camera would take the pictures. But on Saturday when I was getting ready for a day with my sister I thought since I was at my parent's house (who have much better lighting in their bathroom) and I was doing pretty much the same look I do on my eyes everyday, I decided to try taking the pictures. They didn't come out as good as I was hoping but they were decent so here we go..

Neutral shimmering semi-smoky eye look

For this look I used the following products...

(From Left to Right)

-3 Sonia Kashuk eye brushes (angled, small fluffy, and medium fluffy). These are from Target, I'm not sure on pricing or if these ones are even still available because I got them a few years ago as a birthday present from my sister

-E.L.F. Waterproof eye liner pen in Plum

-E.L.F. mineral eyeshadow primer

-Rimmel Lycra lash extender

-CoverGirl lashblast Volume

-Wet n Wild Ultimate Expressions palette in Sand Castle

I start out with the eyeshadow primer all over my lid and slightly outside my crease. When I plan on lining my eye with shadow I swipe a tiny bit along my lower lash line.

Next I used the small fluffy brush to apply the shimmery pink color mostly all over my lid but concentrated on the inner-half of the lid.

I followed that with the grey-ish brown shade on the outer-half of my lid still using the same brush.

I used the bigger fluffy brush to blend the two shades and get rid of any harsh lines.

I took the angled brush and lined my bottom lash line with the bronze and using the same brush and the darkest shade in the palette added the slightest bit of definition to the outer corner of my eye by making a small sideways "v" along my upper lash line and my crease.

Again, I used the medium fluffy brush to blend out the lines.

Last shade I used was the white, and with my pinky I dabbed a little bit of white just along my inner corner to brightening up my eyes.

I put a medium-thick line of eyeliner on my top lash line with the eyeliner pen (which clearly does not show up plum).

When doing my mascara I put on 2 coats of the Rimmel Lash Extender first and follow with 2 coats of the LashBlast Volume. I put 1 very light coat of the LashBlast on my bottom lashes as well.

And there is my look. I didn't plan on going so in-depth with how I do the look but because it's what I do everyday it was all too easy to get overly-descriptive.

I hope you enjoyed and maybe got some inspiration for your eye makeup.

How did you do your eye makeup today? What's your everyday eye makeup routine?

TAG: This or That

Hey Everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I spent mine hanging out at my parent's house. It was nice to get out of this little town I call home.
So here we go with this fun beauty TAG :)
MAKEUP
Blush or Bronzer: I love using them both but I think I use bronzer more.
Lip gloss or Lipstick: Lip gloss is what I use most often

Eyeliner or Mascara: This one is hard but I think I have to choose eyeliner, I think it makes the biggest impact on my entire look.

Foundation or Concealer: Definitely foundation. I have some acne and an uneven skin tone which is most easily fixed with foundation.

Neutral or Color eyeshadow: As much as I wish I could say I'm always trying new and bold colors on my eyes, I'm all about neutrals. I love a neutral smoky eye.
Pressed or Loose eyeshadow: Pressed. I own loose shadows, but I find pressed to be easier to work with.
Brushes or Sponges: Brushes! I love brushes! I do occasionally use sponges for packing on color and things like that but for the most part I use brushes for everything.
NAILS
Long or Short: I think short nails look more polished, practical, and better with all shades of polish but I will be forever jealous of girls who can grow long pretty nails.

Acrylic or Natural: I looove acrylic nails. But not crazy long or eccentric nails, just simple short/medium length, slightly squared off acrylic nails.

Brights or Darks: I love them both but would have to choose brights. I'm so safe with the rest of hair, makeup, and wardrobe that I feel like bright nail polish is my way to color outside the lines.
BODY

Perfume or Body Splash: Perfume! I love the bottles they come in, the pretty smells, how long lasting they are. I feel like they are my own little luxury because I try to be so frugal with everything else. When I am spritzing some on after I have gotten completely ready for the day I feel like one of those movie stars in the black and white movies. Cheesy, yes. The truth, yes!
Lotion or Body Butter: Body butter. I know lotion is more practical, but body butter is so luxurious and creamy and moisturizing.

Body Wash or Soap: Body wash. I'm not a bar of soap kind of girl. I like the bubbles and lather or body wash.
FASHION

Jeans or Sweatpants: Sweatpants all the way. They are comfortable, can be fashionable, and they are my own little safety blanket after a bad day or from "that time of the month." They make everything better :)

Long or Short sleeve: Neither. I prefer somewhere in between.

Dresses or Skirts: Dresses! They are so feminine and classic and there are so many different styles.

Stripes or Plaid: I have always loved plaid and I think I always will.

Flip Flops or Sandals: Sandals Sandals Sandals

Scarves or Hats: Scarves. I have a million of them and I love to wear each and every one of them.

Studs or Dangly earrings: I used to always prefer dangly earrings but lately I can't get enough of studs.

Necklaces or Bracelets: Necklaces for sure. I think they make an outfit.

Cowboy boots or Riding boots: Riding boots. I think cowboy boots are very cute but can so easily go wrong and look ridiculous. Riding boots are so classic. I think they look so cute over a pair of dark jeans, with a blazer and an ultra-feminine blouse.

Jacket or Hoodie: Jacket. My heart will always love jackets.

Heels or Flats: Heart says heels, feet say flats. I love to buy heels but they don't get worn much.

Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe: Forever 21 because they have the best accessories ever.

Saks 5th avenue or Nordstrom: Nordstrom I guess. Not that I really shop there either, but if I had to choose.
HAIR

Curly or Straight: I prefer right in between, Wavy!

Bun or Ponytail: Bun!

Bobby Pins or Butterfly clips: Bobby pins

Hair spray or Gel: Hair spray. Gel is too heavy.

Long or Short: Long!

Light or Dark: I have always had blonde hair and I love being a blonde.

Side-Swept or Full bangs: Full bangs bring back horror stories of my childhood, I prefer side-swept.

Up or down: I think I look prettier with my hair down but that's just my opinion, many people look gorgeous with their hair up.
(That's my brother and I at his wedding.)
RANDOM
Summer or Winter: Summer. I live in an area with snowy frigid winters, so hands down SUMMER!!

Fall or Spring: Although I do enjoy Fall, Spring is my absolute favorite. Sunny skies and a cool breeze and the end of winter, doesn't get better than that!

Chocolate or Vanilla: Chocolate always! Yummm.....

East or West coast: West, it's the only place I've ever lived and it's generally warmer. I don't like cold.
What are your answers to these questions? Which ones would you answer the same or differently?
I hope you enjoyed and I will talk to you soon!
xoxo
